Micro Persuasion: "Philipp Lenssen and his readers have discovered an incredible hack for Google Maps that pulls up super zoomed images. The directions are simple. Find a location. Then switch to satellite view and click the 'link to this page' URL (top right). Then make change the number after the 'z=' in your URL to a higher number and you will get images that look like this. Now all we need is a bookmarklet. Anyone?"
